BENISHEK OPPOSES FORCED UNIONIZATION
LANSING, MI- Today the House Regulatory Reform committee approved the House version of Senator Jason Allen’s Senate Bill 731. These bills would empower the state to forcibly unionize 42,000 personal care assistants into the SEIU (government employee union) and hand the parent organization of ACORN $6.6 million dollars of taxpayer dollars annually to pay these individuals’ “union dues”.
Dr. Benishek commented; “Unbelievable! This bill is just another big wasteful giveaway to union bosses. Ask any of those workers what they think about being forced to unionize and I doubt they are thrilled. I urge Representative McDowell and all members of the Michigan House of Representatives, to oppose this bill on the floor. And I urge Senator Allen to rethink his sponsorship of a bill that’s made him the favorite Republican of the SEIU.”
Term-limited State Senator Jason Allen of the 4th Congressional District is currently running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1st Congressional District.
Dr. Dan Benishek is a surgeon from Iron River, Michigan and a Republican candidate for Congress in Michigan’s 1st Congressional District. Please visit our website at BenishekforCongress.com.
