“As a conservative I have always defined marriage as between one man and one woman” said Dr. Benishek. “I have been endorsed by many conservative individuals and numerous conservative groups, they are all very aware of my position on the subject. This mailing sent out by Senator Allen is completely false and calls into question the endorsement process by groups such as; Citizens for Traditional Values, Concerned Women for America and Eagle Forum. In an election year where grass root conservative candidates are doing well I am not completely surprised that the establishment candidate would try to sell such baloney to the people.”

Phyllis Schlafly of Eagle Forum, a conservative group which endorsed Dr. Benishek earlier this year said: “Eagle Forum is very thorough in vetting our candidates. Protecting traditional marriage as a union between one man and one woman is one of Eagle Forum’s foremost priorities, and we know that we can count on Dr. Beneshek to vote to protect marriage.”
