Janeane Garofalo: Herman Cain Has Stockholm Syndrome and is Being Paid To Run for President

What a pathetically small minded wretch of a human being this Janeane Garofalo is. Last night, on failed MSNBC talk host Keith Olbermann’s new Current TV show  (a network with less viewers than MSNBC), Janeane Garofalo said Herman Cain must be getting paid to run, has Stockholm Syndrome and that the Tea Party and Conservative movement is racist. Video at this link:

“[He's] in this presidential race because he deflects the racism that is inherent in the Republican party, the conservative movement, the Tea Party certainly. [In] the last 30 years the Republican party has been moving more and more to the right, but also race-baiting more. Gay-baiting more. Religion-baiting more,” Garofalo said.

“But, Herman Cain, I feel like, is being paid by somebody to be involved and to run for president so that you go like ‘I love that, that can’t be racist. He’s a black guy, a black guy asking for Obama being impeached.’ Or ‘it’s a black guy whose anti-Muslim. It’s a black guy who is a Tea Party guy.’

Garofalo also had some conspiracy theories as to who may be putting Cain up to this.

“And I feel like wouldn’t that suit the purposes of whomever astroturfs these things. Whether that be the Koch brothers or Grover Norquist or any anything. It could even be Karl Rove. ‘Let’s get Herman Cain involved so it deflects the obvious racism of our Republican party,'” Garofalo said.

Janeane Garofalo and those who continually disparage black libertarians and conservatives are the true racists! You see to a Liberal Democrat it inconceivable that any “person of color” (using her PC vernacular) could have a mind of their own or think for themselves… they have worked very hard scrub clean sins of past (remember throughout history the Democrat Party has been on the wrong side of slavery) and keep blacks in their place with entitlement handouts designed to pacify, like an infant, and keep them on the Democrat plantation as not to lose their monolithic voting block.

Question, how can a movement that advocates small government, low taxes, and demanding that America enforce it’s laws be racist?

Furthermore her completely ludicrous remarks about Herman Cain remind us why Liberalism is a an abject failure.

Garofalo and her ilk cling to a philosophy that has failed every time it’s been tried throughout history with such a death-grip that it’s caused them to create a theoretical utopian reality in their minds… the ultimate group-think were conspiracy runs wild and their grip on reality skews. They continually prove Einstein’s definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result) and Garofalo’s apparent paranoid schizophrenic conspiracy theories further the idea that Liberalism is a mental disorder.

For Janeane Garofalo all that’s left for her is our pity… I hope she find the help she needs!!!

And it is telling that the first disparaging racists remarks regarding Herman Cain would come from Janeane Garofalo. Who should apologize, immediately, and state to from now on criticze people based on the content of their character and ideas and not their color.

But I hope Janeane Garofalo would maybe go up to Harlem sometime and stop by a barber shop and see all the brothers in there watching Fox News, all day. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped in a barber shop and caught brothers watching Fox News, even agreeing with Bill O'Reilly.
Black Americans are fundamentally socially conservative due to the higher incidence of religion in our demographic. We are xenophobic, seeing immigrant cheap labour, as a constant stream of whiter cheaper competition in the labor market. We support the democratic party, largely because it supports government spending on programs, many of which were the only place a black person could get a decent wage and retirement. In other words we support the democratic party, like most people, just like most 'blue collar democrats' not because we are all socialists, but because when we were down FDR and LBJ helped us up.
I have not seen Herman Cain, once treated unfairly, in this campaign. I have seen him embraced by the tea party, because he represents and echos their views and values. In that regard Herman Cain's candidacy may be a bigger statement on race than Obama's.

Let me state again, just for clarity. I am a social democrat, and I will never vote for Herman Cain or any other Republican in the general election.
But I am offended as a black american man. I have come to my positions because of my experience in life, just as I would be offended, if someone accused me of being 'anti american' because i perfer social solutions, I am offended Ms. Garofalo can find no other outlet for her pathological hatred of the GOP than to sink to their level of race baiting.
Why are some white upper class liberals mad when a black person becomes a conservative? Is it a feeling of betrayal, I don't know, and frankly it's beyond the scope here.

  • James

So, Ms. Garofalo, owes Mr. Cain an apology, what she said was bigoted and racist and prejudiced and completely discounting of Herman Cain's personal experience, and a complete manifestation that she, Ms. Garofalo, with her extensive experience in the black community, can obviously credibly discredit, because obviously no black man would think and act like Herman Cain, except one that's been 'co-opted.'
By not, never, even for a moment, allowing for Herman Cain to have arrived at his political beliefs independently for reasons only his own experience can divine, Ms. Garofalo in fact exposes herself as a bigot. As she clearly believes that blacks aren't capable of thinking for themselves.

  • James

conservative, I see, like many white Americans, my grandparent's and parent's generation, plain and simple.
Most Black Americans, of his age, would agree nearly whole hearted with Herman Cain. Ms. Garofalo might find this odd, that the black community isn't littered with socialists and liberals, but it simply isn't. On social and even economic issues, a lot of blacks side with GOP positions, they don't support them for electoral and historical reasons.
Herman Cain, is a part of MLK's dream. He stands a self made wealthy white collar conservative businessman, and acts just as such, he is living in a world on his own terms, and allowed to have opinons based on his character and experience, not the color of his skin. Yes, in MLK's dream, a rich old black man would act must like a rich old white man(we saw this in Professor Gates fiasco where he bombarded the police with 'Do you know who I am?' Only rich old men talk like this, regardless of color).

  • James

So I hope my statement that follows, is contextualize, as coming from a person, who neither has reason to hate or support prima facie, either Garofalo or Cain. Let me be clear though: I will not be voting for Herman Cain or any other Republican candidate in the general presidential election.
So on to my statement concerning Ms. Garofalo's latest public manifestation of schzoid thought.
Herman Cain, to me, appears to actually represent, throughly, the feelings and political leaning of many Black Americans his age. Having been black my whole life, and been around many older black men, when Herman Cain makes statements, that I interpret as racist, xenophobic, homophobic and otherwise socially

  • James

I am a Black American, descendant of Native peoples, African slaves, and Europeans, much like Herman Cain. Unlike Herman Cain, I am not a Republican, do not fear Islam, per se, as a religion, nor its adherants. Like Janeane Garofalo, I am a person of the left, perhaps 'moderate social democrat' would best describe my position, at this point in my life. And like Herman Cain, I have risen from poverty through work and education; unlike Janeane Garofalo, my membership on the left and perference for social solutions, is not rebellion against my middle class upbringing or never ending guilty for having once been a closed minded, narrow experienced parental clone conservative.

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would care what a Hollywood celebrity would have to say on a political topic. Do we really look up to them? Are they so knowledgable about current events? I'm much more interested in what the average American has to say about what's going on, which is why I love reading everyone's comments. Now, someone please tell Janeane that it takes more than designer reading glasses to make her seem smart. She actually needs to say intelligent, balanced things and focus on the issues without getting personal. Oops. Sorry about that.

I love when all these liberals, who are all about bleeding heart tolerance, show their true colors and unmask themselvesa for the prejudiced, bigoted, intolerant bunch of brainless twits they are

    • James

I am a liberal, in fact, i'm beyond liberal, I am a socialist, and I've called her out, so don't you go saying 'all these liberals' this is one person. I could easy say the same about 'conservatives' and there are no shortage of bigoted prejudiced whites only intolerants rejectors of science on that side, so narrow your brush, tuts.
