Missouri Democrat Party Director Placed on Leave Amid Assault Investigation

ST. LOUIS • The executive director of the state Democratic Party has been placed on unpaid leave amid an investigation into an alleged assault at his home.
No charges have been filed in the incident, which police say took place over the weekend at the Soulard home owned by Matthew Teter, who was hired to run the party in March 2011.
St. Louis police did not release the names of either the suspect or the victim in the case
Police say they received a call Sunday around 10 a.m. from the victim, a 31-year-old white male.
Police said the man called from an area hospital after an assault earlier that morning at Teter’s home in the 1600 Block of South Ninth Street.
The investigation is on-going. Police say the have a suspect in the case, a 30-year-old white male.
Teter, who is 30, did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday.
