In Wisconsin…

…. as Governor Scott Walker celebrates his victory, Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin was handed a dire warning from voters that they are fed up with out-of-control-spending, higher taxes and big government.  Immediately after the election was called the NRSC released a web video highlighting Tammy Baldwin’s far-left agenda.

  • NRSC Executive Director Rob Jesmer points out that Baldwin is further left in her political philosophy than Tom Barrett and even President Obama.  “While tonight is a celebration for Governor Walker, it’s probably not one for Madison liberal Tammy Baldwin. Congresswoman Baldwin’s voting record proves she’s further left than Tom Barrett and even President Obama on the issues voters care about. Whether it’s ObamaCare, taxes or government spending, Tammy Baldwin is completely out of touch with the hardworking men and women of Wisconsin.”

  • The Washington Examiner highlights the NRSC video while also noting the pickup opportunity for Senate RepublicansWhatever lessons President Obama is taking from the unions’ huge failure in Wisconsin last night, it’s also important to remember that the state represents an excellent pickup opportunity in the Senate for the GOP. Sen. Herb Kohl, D, is retiring, and polls show both of the top GOP contenders — former Gov. Tommy Thompson and former Rep. Mark Neumann — to be slight favorites over the expected Democratic nominee, Rep. Tammy Baldwin, D.  The National Republican Senatorial Committee wasted no time releasing a video of Baldwin, an unapologetic left-winger, egging on protestors in Madison last year as they took over the state capitol building and giving a few other angry speeches.

  • And don’t miss this interesting nugget from former Wisconsin Democrat Senator Russ Feingold who says the recall race will have consequences for Tammy Baldwin.  Tell that to former Sen. Russ Feingold, who isn’t sold on that theory. “It could have effects on the presidential race, the Senate race, sure,” he said. “There’s always the risk of people being dispirited.”
