Apple’s co-founder, Steve Wozniak, foresees “horrible problems” in the cloud within the next five years. The problems he worries about are problems in ownership, control, and security of your files. With most cloud computing services you’re giving up the right to your documents when agreeing to the terms of service and once you’ve invited others to access your files, you’re essentially allowing them to share your documents with whomever without your permission, thus giving up the security of your business and/or personal information. These problems can become horrendous given the right opportunity, possibly even detrimental to your company if files are put into the wrong hands.
But what Wozniak doesn’t know is that there is already a solution to these problems. Cloud computing doesn’t have to be public, uncontrollable, or insecure. A product called Innodocx by Innovating Solutions LLC gives your company all the benefits of cloud computing without giving up your rights, control, and security by making your own server(s) into a cloud. Innovating Solutions LLC says, “We’re bringing the cloud to you!” Your documents are already on your server, so therefore there is no hassle of uploading your documents onto an unknown server, like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, etc. In essence, your files are kept private, you’re in control of who can have secure access to your documents remotely, and you utilize your preexisting file structure making the change very quick and easy.
