In this broadcast of Italian Tomatoes on Blog Talk Radio, we take a look at the bizarre but effective workings of the liberal brain. It emanated unusually toxic and effective waves in response to the tragic Newtown Connecticut shootings, a classic case of opportunism in pursuit of an ideological agenda.

We examine the tendency of the left to construct negative totems to symbolize the things it fears, and positive ones to symbolize triumph over those fears. Then we look at their success in creating and enforcing taboos designed to shut off debate and pressure the public square to submit to an ever-expanding, overreaching government.
