Great job Senator McCain! Yes we know you are for arming pretty much any group around the world and for getting U.S. Armed Forces entangled in any conflict worldwide but this is a little much even for you. Talk about backing the wrong horse! These are some of the people you called “moderates” when you were in Syria. They don’t seem so moderate as they are machine gunning people to death in drive bys.

From Right Wing News:

Remember when Sen. John McCain took that tour of Syria with the rebels? This is what he said about it when he came back:

“It was a very moving experience to meet these fighters who have been struggling now for over two years,” McCain said on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” on Wednesday night. “And they’re very aware of the battlefield situation and they’re very disturbed about the dramatic influx of Hezbollah fighters, more Iranians, and of course, stepped-up activities of Bashar Assad.”

Here’s one of the photos released to Politico:

Here’s the one ISIS released recently:

So, who’s the new guy?

The man closest to John McCain is General Salim Idris, who was the head of the Free Syria “moderates” at the time.

Idris was booted out.

ISIS is saying some of the men on that photo fight with them now.

Nice work, Senator.

  • Cathy Haynes

    they rear-ended us didn’t they?

  • Jerry Burke

He sure picks great friends – – George W., Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfewitz, Lindsey Graham, and, I almost forgot (!!!!) SARAH PALIN !!!

    • rightminded

Left leaning I see. No excuses for McCain and no opinion on your comment only my initial thought how you just rattled off ancient history and left off his other current friends actually funding and arming the current murderers and terrorists. His NOW friends OBAMA & Co. McCain’s old friends from a former administration are not the ones running the show now. So does it REALLY HELP to rattle off OLD PLAYERS?

      • MrFiggles

        “Ancient history”?!

        Amnesiac, I see.

      • Tom_Kelly

You’re giving away your age there Jerry. When I was 12 I thought that 7 years ago was ancient history too.

        • Jerry Burke

Tom Kelly: It was some guy “rightminded” (an oxymoron) who used ” ancient history, not me.

      • Jerry Burke

If we listened to McCain ‘current history’ would include wars in Syria, Libya, Egypt, and Nigeria, Somalia.

      • EoinG

Ancient History? Are people really that myopic? Thats mental!

      • Mister_G

They’re not running the show. But they’re out there saying we should bomb everyone and arm anyone without regard to consequences. As for who is running the show, it’s much easier and quicker to destroy things, like nations, than it is to put them back together. I don’t care who’s in charge. The sectarian violence in the ME can’t be fixed by a US president or any policy we come up with. 1400 years of whose ideology is purest is a large (not total) part of it, and getting in the middle of it won’t help. The president of the US doesn’t control the ME and the people who live there. The only thing he can do is make matters worse – like Bush and Co. did.

  • LiamT

didnt he also help supply the IRA a few years ago??

  • rlpincus

“Ancient history”? Now that is critical thinking.

These are the moderate Free Syrian Army, not ISIS. I know how much you guys would love for them to be ISIS, as it would float your boat and fit into your idiotic “Obama admin. is supporting Al Qaeda” bullcrap. And I know you would love to believe ISIS and FSA are on the same team, but actually they are at war with each other because FSA rejects their Islamist agenda.

Stop trying to lie to the world. Most of us aren’t stupid. If you want an easy superficial way to differentiate between ISIS and FSA, here’s the easiest method: ISIS don’t respect men with neatly trimmed beards like these guys. The only time you will see ISIS militants without full beards is when A) they are very young fighters who can’t grow beards and B) they just can’t grow a full beard very well. Because ISIS adhere to the Salafi school of thought which adheres to the hadiths in which a beard can not be trimmed unless it is at least the size of one’s fist.

Not that I really need to explain all that, because it’s already well established Mcain met FSA, and it was never a secret or anything

    • Harry

Let me tell you something you brainwashed, Fox News watching idiot of a human being. The guy in the back is the Leader of ISIS. It just doesn’t suit your idiotic mentality, that your own gov. is bringing that shit to life’s and let’s them behead children.

Wake up or just don’t reproduce.

      • Mister_G

Ah, yes. The old “beard length determines your loyalties” test. Wouldn’t occur to Biff that when a man comes to visit you with cameras ready to hand out a billion or two and sophisticated weapons, you might want to present yourself as something more palatable to that man. Shave, trim, wear western clothes, profess moderate views. McCain learned nothing from Iraq. He’ll learn nothing from Syria/ISIS. Pity. He used to be a decent guy.

  • Kamikaze Butterfly

the guy on the right looks like a typical assad shabeeha(secret police)

  • StarTripper

As an aide to the Senator once said, “Never get between Johnny Boy and a camera or you will get run over.”

  • LondonTiger

what a cock up, these obviously look like FSA with their western thsirts and trimmed beards. How the fuck do you expect to be taken serously with such dodgy mistakes. Assume the rest of the artile is full of shit if they get the title and photo wrong.
