Ha'aretz, an Israeli newspaper, has a piece on Obama's "immature" take on Iran. Steve Taranto in the WSJ riffs on the Realpolitik Sarkozy expresses thusly:

One of the things that cost John Kerry the White House in 2004 was the revelation that he looked French. Paris's perfidy over the Iraq war had left America with a suspicion of all things Gallic, and the Democrats, as the "Frenchier" party, suffered for it.

Sarkozy Slams Obama on Iran
Obama Should be asked to Repudiate Ayers/Dohrn Relationship
Bill Ayers was someone I knew back during a silly season I spent with SDS for a couple of months in early '69. I even met his beautiful girl-friend Diana Oughton shortly before her life ended when a bomb went off in the West Village just down the street from a rent-control apartment of an aunt of mine.
NBA Suspicions Confirmed
Some French observations on jogging and the Fourth of July
The French sometimes exceed themselves in presenting alternative points of view. For instance, today in the news, President Sarkozy was criticized for jogging, "a sport which emphasizes individualism and performance." French intellectuals would prefer automatons and failure, of course.
No Pasaran! has the outlook of the Communist daily, Liberation, which asks, "Is jogging a part of the right-wing life-style?"
Catherine the Great died for Her Sins, or Raunchy on the Ranch
Yes, the New Age is upon us and nowhere more nakedly than the state of Washington.Cannes is all aflutter with a flick that depicts "mammal-on-mammal" sexual congress, in this case terminal.
In July 2005, a 45-year-old man died of internal bleeding after being anally penetrated by an Arabian stallion during a bestiality weekend in the US state of Washington. The victim, a Boeing engineer working on top-secret defence projects named Kenneth Pinyan, suffered a perforated colon.
Bob Kerrey and that rare bird, a Sensible Democratic POV
I am so far into my dotage that I usually tell an anecdote about meeting a celeb politician like Bob Kerrey in a political context. But gentleman Bob helped me put my luggage in the overhead when flying out of Chicago while he was still serving in the Senate, and nary a political thought was exchanged. I thanked him for the help [I had a cast on my wrist from a bike accident] and thought to myself that this fellow has the Right Stuff.
Miami Drivers Top List as worst in USA
I looked at the list of cities with the worst driving habits and found that I have lived in or driven extensively in the top five WORST-RATED
in the USA. I lived in DC for twenty years, in New York for a year, drove all over LA for a month in a political campaign, drive in Boston every summer.
Why watching the NBA can be a chore
first watched the NBA back in the fifties when the Milwaukee Hawks drafted <Bob Pettit who became one of the leading scorer/rebounders in the NBA almost instantaneously. [Trivia: the name "Hawks" is derived from "Black Hawks," whose native area as a native American was near the Quad Cities. Thus Blackhawk is the only human whose name is appended to a pro sports franchise, and it's two franchises, the Chicago NHL and the Atlanta NBA teams.]
In Memoriam: David Halberstam
Although I never met Halberstam himself, I had a strange coincidence concerning him when I stayed with a UN diplomat friend's apartment on Turtle Bay on the East Side back in 1979 while reading David H's book The Powers That Be, a bestseller at the time concerning how much the mass media had become influential in politics.
Last Update on French Elections
The New Yorker under David Remnick is as far left and as afflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome as a mainstream publication pretending to be "objective" can possibly be. And it comes as little surprise that European TNY mavenette Jane Kramer pushes some of the usual leftish tropes that make her coverage of the elections tomorrow in France an exercise in nose-in-the-air ninnyhood.
