It has been known since the dawn of the redistributionist era that such policies only work so long as those being taken from, in one form or another, consent to said taking. Well, it seems that, at least in one state in Hugo Chavez Junior's Bolivia, they are not taking the whole consent-thing lightly.
Bolivia's largest and richest state voted amid scattered violence Sunday to seek greater autonomy from the government of leftist President Evo Morales, who dismissed the referendum as a failure.
Well of course you think ths referendum was a "failure", Evo - they didn't vote the way you wanted them to, those uppity capitalists. It's the way every dictator feels when his subjects voice their displeasure.
You've obviously learned well at the feet of your master.
The eastern lowland state of Santa Cruz, center of Bolivia's conservative opposition, had called the vote in hopes of separating the state's freewheeling capitalism and mixed-blood heritage from Morales' push for a communal state ruled by Indian values. In the face of local exit polls showing 85 percent of voters favoring the measure, Morales claimed that as many as half the ballots were invalid, quoting media reports.
Well, if half of the ballots are "invalid" (what, they had hanging chads or something), doesn't that still mean that 85% of the valid ballots favored the measure? Or are you claiming that only those favoring the measure cast "invalid" ballots, Commrade Morales?
Either way, you look like an impotent puss-ball chump.
Let's hope some folks in that other commie-dictator-run banana republic to the north start getting the sense of which way the winds are blowing.

He's been a clever man who has managed to play the middle between far left and moderate right in the region. This could force him off the fence in one direction, or the other...We know how Hugo will react.
Boo-Yeah!
