Help me out here, brothers and sisters. Do I have this about right?
We are on the verge of a $3 TRILLION federal government.
The federal government has, for all intents and purposes, taken over a significant chunk of the mortgage industry - and there's talk on Capitol Hill that the take-overs of Freddy and Fanny are just the beginning.
AIG was, effectively, nationalized by the federal government last night.
To the best of my knowledge, every major bank/mortgage holder has been on The Hill over the last month with their hands out. And any not there yet will be there presently.
Ditto the "Big 3" auto manufacturers.
Ditto every one of the nation's airlines.
We have new, federal standards for (and lots more federal money being poured into) primary and secondary education.
The US Supreme Court has ruled that, effectively, every single human being on the planet has US Constitutional rights - but that the President of the United States has no authority to dispatch illegal enemy combatants in a time of war.
And all of this has taken place during the "reign" of a nominally Republican President.
Do I have that all about right? I mean, I'm sure I've left some things out - but do I have that all about right?
So, could someone tell me when it was I went to bed in Massachusetts and woke-up in Finland?
Just saying.
Consider this an Open Thread.

Who can step up and say.."No more BS!!!!!!!!"...for lack of better profanity
Where does the Buck stop in a case like this????
"40 million American households that read TMR are generally happier
than those people in households that don't read TMR."
