Ex-Dem Chair Apologizes for Hurricane Remark

August 31, 2008 5:55 PM ABC News’ Teddy Davis Reports: Former DNC Chairman Don Fowler apologized on Sunday for joking in a private conversation that the timing of Hurricane Gustav demonstrates that God is on the side of the Democrats. “If this offended anybody, I personally apologize,” Fowler told ABC News. “It was a mistake, and it was a satirical statement made in jest. And one that I clearly don’t believe.” Fowler was secretly recorded by the person sitting behind him while flying from Denver, Colo., to Charlotte, N.C., following the Democratic National Convention. His conversation with Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., was anonymously posted to YouTube and highlighted by RedState.com, a conservative blog.

Read it all via link above.

This is yet another example of the fading influence of the MSM and the rising influence of The Minority Report and other conservative blogs and media. See also that John Edwards was forced to admit his affair before the MSM fully reported that story.

My next blog will chronicle this phenomenon.

Now I am just awaiting for Bush and McCain to apologize for eating cake while Katrina was flooding the streets.

even the MSM has begun to admit that the Governor and the Mayor of NOLA screwed the pooch last time -- something that won't happen with Jindal as governor.

but then, you knew that didn't you

poor scared liberal...

First, Katrina did not devaste NO. It did Mississippi's coastal cities. One wiped off the face off the map. A levee broke which caused the flooding of NO. Get our facts straight.

Second, McCain nor Bush owe you an apology or anyone else. If anyone does, and I doubt anyone does, it would be Blanco and Nagin. The leaders of that state and city. Louisiana and New Orleans. Further if Blanco and Nagin would have done their jobs the loss would not have been so bad.

So to end, wait for an apology from the right people, which they will never give to you.

As a democrat, I am really sick and tired of hearing people blame the rpublicans for everything. The democract party deserves more of you hatred than you think.

You are an idiot

we welcome Democrats like yourself, willing to be honest in discussion. Lest you get the mistaken idea that this is some sort of echo chamber for the Republican Party you should have been here a couple of months ago when Sen McCain was being roundly castigated for his views.

Come back often and we can have honest discussions of issues -- no kool-aid allowed at TMR

and I’ll teach my kid this when he grows up:

If you have to put an If someone was offended in your apology, then you don’t really mean it.

This “apology” means dirt.

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.

from everyone who celebrated a birthday while Katrina blew through.
from everyone who celebrated an anniversary
from anyone who went to see a movie
or a ball game
or did anything other than do something to help with Katrina.

It's silly. Let them eat cake. AT the time, they had no idea that it would get so bad. No one did. Give them a break. Where were YOU when it hit?
