Hold On! It’s Gonna Be The Ride of Your Life

Raise taxes, raise business restrictions, raise government handouts, raise employers’ liabilities, and watch a country already in trouble go downhill fast.

Of course, President Obama will try to blame any deep spiral into an economic abyss (and everything else) on the current situation, and his lackeys will nod thier heads “yup, yup, yup” and believe it. But this economy, as bad as it is, could be corrected--so when the ride comes, don’t believe the blind donkeys in charge. Plausible deniability is Barack Obama’s middle name, and he’ll try to blame his failure on everyone else.

So here’s the rallying cry he needs to hear on Inauguration Day:

NO EXCUSES!

Hey Obama! It’s your economy NOW–fix it! No excuses!

NO EXCUSES!

And when he says he can’t, remind him he also said, “Yes We Can.”

When the economy tanks (and we have a loooooooooong way to go before we even start to see bottom) and the Obamorons surrounding me start bitching about "It's all Bush's fault" my standard answer shall be - well, President Hope-n-change was gonna fix it all with puppy kisses and unicorn poop - so, how's that working out?

I saw there's a poll out there pushing the notion that 3/4 of Americans expect Obama to fix the economy. My guess is that, in related news a whole boatload of people are soon going to be very, very disappointed.

...one can't help but smile whenever they read the words "unicorn poop."

I think it should be submitted to Webster with the definition, "A disingenuous or unfulfilled political promise...see Obama campaign."

Well that, and being a first-class cynic, of course.

Yes, I of course know that.

But after hearing about "The Failed Bush Economy" for the better part of the last 8-years I'm thinking a little "Corner of Pay, and Back" is in order.

This you already know, of course.

the federal trough, he has one sizzling turd on his hands.

He always said he would use a scalpel on the patient. Now he doesn't even need anesthesia. The cause of fiscal responsibility is dead.

If the US Treasury buys equity stakes in our largest banks, now the President OWNS a lot of the US economy.

but O seems to think the POTUS does have that influence according to his campaign--he created the public perception that he can "heal" it while blaming the current problems on President Bush. I'm pretty sure his way out of campaign promises will be exactly what you said--"Presidents don't run the economy." Of course he'll take credit for it if it improves. I've said a thousand times that Bill Gates had more to do with the economy of the 90's than Bill Clinton--but the public thinks of it as Clinton's success, barely able to even give any credit to the Rep's congress of the time.

Evidently, perception is 9/10s of the law.

I believe that you can trace the decline of the NASDAQ in the 1990s to the day that Clinton Administration announced its plans to try to break up Microsoft -- and it rebounded the moment that the Bush Administration announced it would NOT be continuing that effort.
