It is that time of year to give THANKS to those who would lay down their lives for us!

I am a Soldiers Angel and the United States Military is cause #1 for me. These men and women with courage and grace beyond the average person are heroes. They volunteer to stand ready to protect our way of life on a daily basis. We thank them when we see them and our hearts pound when we see them march in formation because we are true Americans. They ask so little of us and we expect so much of them and yet once a year we have the opportunity to say thank you to the most wounded of them. We of course send letters and help the Angels get those gifts to them at Christmas but this cause is so much more than those because Project Valour IT helps the MOST wounded of our heroes.

This is what it's all about....

Project Valour-IT, in memory of SFC William V. Ziegenfuss (Captain Chuck Ziegenfuss' father), provides voice-controlled software and laptop computers to wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines recovering from hand and arm injuries or amputations at major military medical centers. Operating laptops by speaking into a microphone, our wounded heroes are able to send and receive messages from friends and loved ones, surf the 'Net, and communicate with buddies still in the field without having to press a key or move a mouse.

I myself found Soldiers Angels 3 years ago and I have donated to this cause each year and I want you my friends that I have made here to consider perhaps just $10.00 or $20.00 to each one of the services. They allow you and me the ability to get up and work and blog and generally have a great life because they ensure our families safety EVERY DAY!

God Bless America

This Thursday (today), I'm out indefinitely due to a bachelor party.

Sometimes I am home on Friday evenings, sometimes not. Should be hanging around tomorrow nite.

My daughter and I joined the angels over a year ago.
Sadly, within 2 months of adopting her first soldier, (around Christmastime) last year he was killed in action by an IED. The Angels sent her a beautiful gold medal.

I heard about it first on Fox radio. It's great to see other people who are involved. It costs so little but has such a wonderful impact on our soldiers.
