Foreseeing Barack Obama’s First Term Agenda

Tagged:

Clearly the most epochal concern we should have about Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee for President is his substantial dearth of experience. Some may fairly argue this is a common thread which conjoins the numerous issues plaguing Mr. Obama’s candidacy. Whether it his personal affiliations, extirpation of common sense or foreign policy proclamations it is fairly evident he either has extraordinarily bad judgmental flaws, is philosophically corrupt or purblind as to the tenets of our precious Republic.

We all realize the just a few years ago Mr. Obama was a community organizer and then leveraged associated contacts to join the Illinois Senate. More recently, he has spent even less time in Washington, but long enough to become its most liberal member. Ergo, even the most partisan of stalwarts would have a difficult time explaining this is the resume or achievements of someone we can trust with our sacred office of President. Yet still, some plunge headlong into the natatorium of anger and vote using emotion as an inspiration instead of intellectual examination. What would Mr. Obama's Presidency look like? If past is prologue, here is a preview;

On the recent decision by our Supreme Court to grant terrorist rights previously reserved for American Citizens, Mr. Obama's advisors were quick to opine that Osama Bin Laden would receive habeas corpus rights if incarcerated at GITMO

In 2002 Mr. Obama voted against providing medical care for infants that survived abortion procedures and voted against restrictions of public funding of abortions (2000). He also voted in favor of embryonic stem cell research in 2004

Mr Obama voted against allowing Illinois residents to use a "self defense" argument when charged with violating local handgun laws by using weapons in their homes

In 2004 Mr. Obama and other Illinois Democrats raised more than 300 taxes and fees on businesses to solve a budget gap

In 2000 Mr. Obama voted against making the repeal of Illinois 5% gasoline tax permanent

In 2001, Mr. Obama voted against a law that would make gang members eligible for the death penalty if they killed someone to help their gang

In 2004, Mr. Obama sponsored the Health Care Justice Act which examined how to implement a statewide universal healthcare system (remember a few points up, this is the same years he voted to raise taxes on businesses)

In 2002, Mr. Obama sponsored a measure which would have expunged certain criminal records and provide grants for former criminals

Hope and change? I suspect this is hardly what most people envision in that phrase.

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.

many of us entertained dreams of one day growing up to become President. The operative phrase there is "growing up to be."

Obama is still several maturity years away from being allowed into that office -- even on a White House tour.

Dude, do you even understand what habeus corpus is? It's the right of a detained person to present evidence to prove that they've got the wrong man. No conservative could possibly be against this -- only a totalitarian who believes the government never makes mistakes.

...that our constitution only applies to U.S citizens, for now. If it were bastardized to cover everybody there's still this clause liberals always seem to forget or purposefully gloss over!

Article One, Section 9. states:

Quote:
The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.

Btw - your definition of totalitarian needs some work as well

Leave another turd like this on the rug and you're vapor.

We don't traffic in stupid here at TMR - and people who cannot discern between accused domestic criminals picked-up by domestic police within the confines of the USA and out-of-uniform, foreign unlawful combatants picked-up by the military in a foreign combat zone clearly demonstrate a proclivity for stupid.

We clear, duuuuuuuuuuuuuuude?

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock.

This is the first time I have read habeus corpus and "dude" in the same sentence. C onsider yourself a trailblazer in that regard.

Now I could opine all day about habeus, taking that back to the constitutional debates or the derived meaning from British Common Law (that would be the standard which applied only to British subjects). But that's not your point; is it?

You can shill for BO or anyone else granting or applauding this historic application of habeus to persons who are not by any measure citizens. That's certainly your right; just be honest about it sharky or at least try some facts that are not sophmoric and contra factual.

It's Sunday, so us heathens are benevolent this day and therefore a quick summary; this is just one more issue which indicates BO is not ready to sit at the grown up table.
