It’s hard to get to the truth when your being lied too so eloquently!!!
This administration has a very unnerving tendency to completely overstate it’s figure especially when it comes to the so-called “Stimulus Package”
ABC’s Jake Tapper, someone who I think Gibbs hates taking questions from, calls the administration out for overstating figures in this Good Morning America segment:
After 102 days of “Stimulus”, regardless of the rhetoric coming from Obama and the White House, one thing is clear, President Obama broke his vow to end the political paralysis he said was pervasive in Washington.
The stimulus bill was the opportunity for the newly elected president to demonstrate to the nation and to the Congress that he planned to keep his word. But he did not do that. Rather than engaging in a real dialogue with the GOP on Capitol Hill about their ideas for jumpstarting the economy, he deferred to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid, who cobbled together a massive government-spending package, laden with “pork.”
In so doing, Pelosi and Reid enabled the Democrats to use the stimulus bill to accomplish what they would have failed to accomplish through the regular appropriations process due to the enormity of the federal deficit.
What Obama should have done is to have subjected his stimulus plan to a real “stress test” by submitting it to several of the nation’s leading independent economists before he submitted it to Congress.
So here we are, We don’t know exactly what our money is being spent on. That is to say, besides all the earmarks and spending programs funded by the “Stimulus Package” that do not address stimulating the economy, but I digress….
You’ll notice I linked to Recovery.gov and called it rhetoric, of course it’s rhetoric, it’s the White House’s version! No matter how transparent they say they want to be, they’ll never post anything that may show a negative for this administration or casts it in a bad light… So take that site with a grain of salt.
I can see why most American have no clue what’s going on with respect to the so-called “Stimulus Package” It’s hard to get to the truth when your being lied too so eloquently!!!
