Officials in Honduras say that if Zelaya returns to that country he will be arrested.
"As soon as he enters he will be captured. We have the warrants ready so that he stays in jail in Honduras and is judged according to the country's laws," said Honduran foreign minister Enrique Ortiz.
In addition to his ties to other Socialist states in South and Central America, Zelaya is reported to have been connected with drugs and smuggling, a fact not often mentioned in news reports of the ouster.
''The action taken against Honduran President Mel Zelaya violates the precepts of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, and thus should be condemned by all,'' said United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. ``We call on all parties in Honduras to respect the constitutional order and the rule of law.''
It was the constitutional order and the rule of law that removed a would be tyrant from office in Honduras. Why does this administration not support democracy in Israel or Honduras or Iran?
North Korean ship reverses course -- now headed back North
The North Korean cargo vessel, the Kang Nam, which the United States Navy has been shadowing for the past two weeks, has suddenly reversed course and is now returning North.
Suspected of illegally carrying nuclear materials or weaponry, the ship has been kept under surveillance by the US Navy under United Nations sanctions that prohibit North Korea from engaging in such trafficking. Neither the United Nations nor North Korea will, however, allow the US Navy to board the ship for inspection.
North Korea has threatened that any interference with the Kang Nam will be viewed as an act of war.
Consumer confidence plummets amid fears of inflation and ongoing recession
You know its a bad month for the Obama Administration when even George Soros disses the economy. Consumer confidence plummeted five points in June to 49.3 amid fears that the runaway government spending will fuel inflation.
"As markets revive, fear of inflation will drive up interest rates, which will choke off recovery," he told the Wall Street Journal.
Home sale prices rose slightly in April but overall, business activity in most of the country remains flat.
"While one month's data cannot determine if a turnaround has begun, it seems that some stabilization may be appearing in some of the regions," said David Blitzer of Standard and Poors. "We are entering the seasonally strong period in the housing market, so it will take some time to determine if a recovery is really here."
As Soros pointed out, inflationary spending will result in higher interest rates, and higher interest rates will choke off any hope of economic recovery.
Selected -- Not Elected -- Stuart Smalley becomes Minnesota Senator
The Minnesota Supreme Court overlooked election irregularities that propelled comedian Al Franken into the lead -- on the second or third recount -- effectively selecting him as Minnesota's new Senator. Former Senator Norm Coleman officially conceded on Tuesday.
The selection of Franken to the seat in Washington, DC effectively gives the Democrat majority a filibuster-proof 60 seats, removing any ability of the Republican minority to derail the juggernaut of Socialist agenda items proposed by this administration and this congress.
The Democratic Party now officially owns the federal government and any and all resulting effluvia and detritus now belongs to them!
