Here's some things to chew on for today...

Unemployment rate jumps to 5.5 percent in May Not good.

Vote on climate bill is blocked in Senate Score one for the good guys.

Verizon Wireless agrees to buy Alltel for $5.9B I hope VZW adopts Alltel's marketing team - I love their commercials.

Urban beekeeping is the latest buzz Sure, because areas with lots and lots of people is precisely where you want to keep lots and lots of bees.

Myanmar attacks media for cyclone coverage Yep, that's the problem - distorted media coverage.

While we're on the subject, did you see that the Editors of TNR think we should actually invade Burma? Man, it must be great being a liberal - you never have to make any sense and never have to worry about being called on it. Sign me up.

Steve here: also RS3 went public today. Most here, like yours truly, have been using the beta site for some time now -- some love it, some think it just OK, others don't have an opinion, and some don't like the change at all. What do you think?

Have at it!

I'm sure you will be shocked - shocked, I say - to learn that the nominally-Republican presidental nominee for 2008 is on board with the "Global Warming" bill.

Quote:
Both presidential candidates, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, were absent, although supporters of the bill said they had sent letters advising they would have voted for the bill.

Shocking, indeed.

Your sarcasm was, indeed, evident.

NT gets that way from time to time. I should know as I actually have to WORK with the guy... :)

Rush and Mark L. have been hammering on this for days if not weeks...

One more thing to hang around McCain's neck - he's anti-capitalism. [shouted expletives follow]

You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you.

I'm underenthused, myself. I avoided it after trying it a few weeks ago.

I don't know. I've purposly avoided it all this time so I got a "cold body" look at it today. My initial response was "me no likey" but the more I hacked around with it the better I felt about it. After an hour or so on-and-off (more off than on, in truth) my response is "me kinda likey".

Perhaps it's an acquired taste.

so it takes some getting used to.

Something young pups like me are a little more suited to.

Although there are a few things that need some improvement.

as people get frustrated stumbling around there, they might come here because we're easier. :-)

I had made the same comment to Neil awhile back.

I hope those that feel this format is more comfortable will come over here rather than go somewhere else...

Stay close to home as it were.

still hang out on Redstate.....I actually keep both windows up when I am at work where before it was just Redstate......I love it here but I do appreciate Redstate for helping me in the last year contemplate my arguments in a more intelligent manner....believe you me I was a Polipundit / Ace of Spades / Jawa regular and my language skills were horrible ;-) that sailor mouth was front and center....I do still like to throw around the damn word and when discussing Hillary the B**ch word but other than that I have excelled at bringing it down a level or two or ten ;-)
