It should come as no surprise that Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is claiming that she and Congress are the victims of subterfuge perpetrated by the CIA and the Bush administration.
Crying foul and playing the victim card when caught red-handed is a liberals default position since, in their minds, they could never be wrong due to their overwhelming enlightenment and altruistic purity. Of Course we know that’s a fairytale they convince themselves of and tirelessly dill into the heads of their acolytes and our school children.
Nancy Pelosi’s game here simple and the tactics she’s employing have been used many times before. It’s the semantics word game made famous by Bill Clinton “what the meaning of is, is!”
Pelsoi feeling invincible, and pandering to her base, lied about these EIT’s in order to gain credibility in her pursuit for “Truth Hearings” that she was called out was a shock to her (I’m sure) and now we have 5 official Pelosi versions of what she knew and when she knew it. Now she’s blaming the CIA
But she said the fact that she did not speak out at the time due to secrecy rules did not make her complicit in any abuse of detainees. She accused the C.I.A. and Bush administration of lying to Congress about what was actually transpiring with the detainees.
“I am saying that the C.I.A. was misleading the Congress and at the same the administration was misleading the Congress on weapons of mass destruction,” Ms. Pelosi said.

Lie Exposed: Pelosi’s Power, Oversight and Control of the CIA Two months after being briefed on Waterboarding. Nancy Pelosi in her own words allocating money, admitting her oversight role, and saying the interrogation community deserves our appreciation
Leader Boehner has some questions about Pelosi’s truthfulness:
The “problem” is that “the Speaker has too many stories on this issue … she’s provided more questions than she has answers,” Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters today just after Pelosi left the podium to try to clarify what she knew about enhanced interrogation techniques and when she knew it. Pelosi essentially said the CIA “misled the Congress” on what techniques were being used, and maintains that she didn’t know waterboarding was being used in September of 2002, when she and other ranking members of the congressional intelligence committees were briefed.
“I don’t know what motivation they would have to mislead anyone,” Boehner said, adding that briefings he has had since then give no indication that anyone mislead anyone. “I have not one doubt that our intelligence officials proceeded within the law and proceeded appropriately.”
Boehner reiterated the call many Republicans are sounding, that if the Obama administration and Democrats are going to push for a “truth commission” and cherry-pick certain interrogation memos to release, to release it all so everyone knows who knew what, and when.
The hole the Speaker has dug just may be too insurmountable to climb out of and taking on the CIA is never a great idea. Even if she wanted to make amends now I think the CIA would say “It’s Too Late To Apologize”
As I’ve said in these pages on repeated occasions Nancy Pelosi is unfit for her position and should be removed immediately, hearings should be held to determine if she lied, and if it is found that she did she should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
