With today's calculated display of test firing long range missiles at the mouth of the Strait of Hormuz, which by the way 40 percent of the world's oil passes, including the Shahab-3 missile that has a reported range of 1,250 miles and is armed with a 1-ton conventional warhead. Iran has put American allies -- Israel, Afghanistan,Turkey, Pakistan and other friends on the Arabian peninsula on notice.
They say this is a result of "threatening language being leveled at Iran. Ironic that they don't see their own "threatening language" and continued defiance of the world to begin with that prompted such a reaction and harsh language. Funny too that that seems to be the position held by many on the left in this country as well. Blame America first It must be our fault these tin-pan dictators around the world are upset! But I digress...
My question to you, our brilliant (yet sometimes reluctant to post and engage ;0) readers, is this: What do you think the worlds response should be? If any. And what do you think the United States role should be? If any.
My opinion is such: Since the U.S. is looked at as the "Worlds Policemen" I think we should coordinate with all of our allies in the region to do a couple of things:
1) Step up efforts (and I mean full blast) and fully fund and support the overthrow of the Iranian Mullahs and their puppet government.
2) Broadcast free western television and radio thought Iran to speak directly to the Iranian people
3) Strike and disable the Iran's only oil refinery! This I believe will be catalyst or sounding bell that will usher in the insurrection and revolution that will free the Iranin people from their oppressors!
What are your thought's?

... and by "things" I mean all sorts of nasty cloak-and-dagger stuff that never makes the papers and never gets sniffed out until long, long after the fact - deep inside Iran presently then we're probably way too late to the table to topple Ahamnutjob's regime.
Taking-out their energy capacity is probably only going to get us a (real) environmental disaster and $250 bbl oil - and, of course, the ever-lasting hatred of al-Reuters and the rest.
So, it comes down to this - is Iran something we need to deal with now? And if so, are you ready to go to war with them?
For me, that answer is no and no.
Why? The net/net for me is that so long as we have decided to take "strategic" weapons off the table there is precisely nothing we can hope to accomplish in Iran that wouldn't 1) be a whole lot more expensive and 2) take a whole lot longer than our current investment in Iraq. So, until and unless we're willing to use every weapon in our arsenal - and yes, I mean every. freaking. weapon. period. - then we have not demonstrated the necessary testicular fortitude to take Iran seriously and should not engage militarily until and unless we grow sufficient nads to get the job done right the first time.
