Who Will Be Barack Obama's VP Pick?

Tagged:

Everyone is reporting that Barack will announce his VP pick this Thursday. Regardless of the actual day, we know his decision will come by the end of the week. So with that, I thought I’d see what our readers and contributors here thought by taking a little poll…

If you think Obama will surprise everyone with a pick not on the reported short list feel free to leave a comment below.

...Biden!

I think he's being told (by his handlers) he needs someone with foreign policy experience and for dems Biden fits the bill -- though I would have picked Sam Nunn!

My guess is that the thinking in Camp Messiah is probably along the lines of "we need a white guy on the ticket or else all those racist white bigots won't vote for The Chosen One".

Kaine would probably be a better choice (certainly would make VA hard for McPain to hold), but has precisely zero foreign policy juice. Sibelius is too much of a novelty (and perhaps the only change of the Dems holding KS-GOV) and Bayh is, well, blah.

who doesn't consider Obama just another dirty pol.

Boo-Yeah!

Everything is pointing toward Biden now. If this is the case it will take a weak candidate and add a weak VP to make and even weaker ticket!

I really do think that it will be Clinton.

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.

All choices have problems in varying degrees of experience, leadership or charisma. A Sebellus nod would anger the Hillary supporters even more. Biden has been around forever, but never in an executive role and is gaffe prone.

Not a good bench for this party of panderers.

then again, he was the ONLY Democrat candidate running for president who was actually QUALIFIED for the job -- with foreign policy experience, cabinet level experience, and executive experience as the governor of a state -- and a registered minority to boot.

Thank God the Democrats NEVER do the intelligent thing.
