Survivors of Rape Speak Out Against Gun Control: “I Was Denied The One Equilizing Factor That I Had”

On his Tuesday evening broadcast, Glenn Beck hosted a special guest panel comprising people who have survived the unspeakable atrocity of rape. What’s more, these guests maintain that their attack might have been prevented if they had been equipped with a means of self-defense. Many of the attacks occurred in gun-free zones, underscoring the reality that people of goodwill were left defenseless, while those with an intent to do harm still found a way to wreak their havoc.

Included on the panel was Amanda Collins, who was raped at gunpoint in a garage situated on her college campus. Her attacker, James Biela, had already raped two other women and murdered a third. He is now serving his sentence on Death Row.

The old argument that “she was asking for it” has resurfaced in multicultural guise. Where are all the feminists?  This shocking report from Melbourne, Australia tells the tale of a Libyan student recently arrived in Australia as a scholarship student, who sexually attacked 6 women, and a 13 year old girl a month after arriving in Australia.

The judge found that his sentence should be reduced because he was unable to cope with the way Australian women dress. Obviously, the implication is that Australian women should don abayas and burkas, if they want to avoid being attacked, because Muslim men just can’t control themselves.

Creeping dhimmitude, indeed.

Gaffe-A-Minute Biden Strikes Again; Compares Republicans to Rape Apologists

Speaking Friday in Philadelphia Vice-President Biden said, “Republicans who want to cut spending while at the same time cutting taxes for the wealthy are similar to rape apologists.”

 

“The vice president, known for speaking his mind and at times putting his foot in his mouth, said that Republicans who want to cut spending while at the same time cutting taxes for the wealthy are similar to rape apologists.

“In setting up his comparison, the vice president explained to the audience that before the Violence Against Women Act that he championed was passed into law, ‘there was this attitude in our society of blaming the victim,’ according to a press pool account of the event.

“’When a woman got raped, blame her because she was wearing a skirt too short, she looked the wrong way or she wasn’t home in time to make the dinner,’ Biden said

Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America, issued the following statement  in reaction to Biden’s comment:

“Vice President Joe Biden is proof that success doesn’t necessarily guarantee class.  His remarks on Friday using the issue of rape for political points is beyond tasteless; it’s downright ignorant.   To be clear, women in America overwhelmingly support bold efforts to cut government spending and to repay the $14 Trillion that has been stolen from our children and grandchildren.  The national debt and America’s solvency threaten our families and we demand that our national leaders stop their childish antics and get down to the business of saving our country.”
