Sen. Kennedy (D-MA) hospitalized. (Updated and bumped up)

It would seem that the 76-year old senior senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has suffered a stroke seizure. He is said to be "resting comfortably" - we probably won't know more for another couple of days.

While it's of course too soon to think about such things, you know people are so why not us? So I'm thinking we'd better get used to saying/hearing the words "Senator Joseph Kennedy" in the very near future.

As to the update... Well, the guy is 76 and, as in most cases, it's not just the years but the miles that matters - and at the end of the day a seizure, while serious, ain't a stroke. So perhaps Uncle Ugo's favorite American pol is going to have to wait a while to play in The World's Most Deliberately Arrogant Body, eh?

Nothing Personal Doc J but I don't think it's a good idea to celebrate someone elses misfortunes no matter how much you dislike them....I hate KOS references but it fits here not that I'm saying you're a KOSite. The point is that KOS has garnered much outrage for making fun of Tony Snow's Cancer and wishing Reagan well on his way to hell when he died and I can't help but wonder if we should be following that pattern!

I'm with ya more than I'm not but on this I'm most definitely not!

I don't believe I've "made fun" of anything here - execpt perhaps noting that Little Joey might have to wait a while before he inherits the family Senate Seat.

I don't believe I've made sport of the Senator's condition at all and to the extent you though so I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

... I actually do hope the Senator recovers - in spite of the fact that I don't think I would cross the street to give the guy the time of day had I the opportunity. I note merely that we're talking about a 76-year old man who has put, I think it's fair to say, a whole lot of miles on that body over the years - and that tends to have an impact on the ability of people to recover from things like seizures (and, moreso, strokes).

Any digs I've taken have been directed, I think it's fair to say, at 1-800-Ugo-4-Joe and not at Teddy - but again, sorry for the misunderstanding.

a little too close to the line for comfort.

Seriously, man. Not upset in the least. No worries.

I'll mark "the line" a little better though going forward!

correctness...I'm all for pissing of the Kennedy/Pelosi/Ried Democrats...on this I'm just thinking why give the other side the club to beat us over the head...I wouldn't twist what you said...but they would if we yield to the temptation to go on a death watch on TMR..

I'm glad we're cool!
